North-West University (NWU) is a reputable institution with a strong academic curriculum, offering a range of courses across multiple disciplines. For students unfamiliar with Afrikaans and Tswana, adjusting to the language barrier can pose challenges in communication and engagement with peers and faculty. However, the university provides resources and support services for non-native speakers to help ease the transition.
The fast-paced curriculum may require some adjustment, especially for those new to the university’s academic expectations. Students should expect a rigorous academic experience with a need for consistent study habits and time management. Overall, while there may be initial challenges in adjusting to the linguistic and academic environment, NWU offers a supportive atmosphere for growth and success.
View moreI would highly recommend the NWU because it has so many perks that make a student’s life better. For a student that is unable to afford a laptop or have access to WiFi, they can be able to come to school at any given time so to work on the school’s computer labs, and the entire campus is covered by a connectable WiFi network that is free.
The school has implemented a program in which it gives away food packages to students in need and every now and then on campus they implement a soup kitchen where any students that needs food for that moment, can help themselves.
But the only objection I have with this school is the fact that their libraries do not operate 24/7. Of which that is a huge disadvantage to us scholars that prefer studying overnight, and the computer labs can get a bit chaotic at night.
Overall the NWU is a great university and there are so many benefits to it, and it can help one grow even in terms of their personal life because there are also psychologists placed at school that help students with their mental health or stress whenever it gets tough.
