i Like nwu is because it has garnered positive recognition for its academic and athletic achievements. It also has a good reputation in fields like engineering, law , businesses and life sciences and again it is a multi-campus structure(mahikeng, potcheftroom, vanderbijlpark) that offers students different experiences and opportunities.

North-West University (NWU) in South Africa is known for its commitment to providing a comprehensive education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Currently in my final year and the experience has been excellent.
From the environment, lecturers and professors to workers.
As an international student, I was welcomed home and the personal growth, team building, networking and professional skills learnt at NWU have helped me achieve so much in 2 years and looking forward for more .
I have tutored students, peer mentor first year students to ease their social ability and adapting to university life at NWU.
I have been a student assistant for several modules like CMPG 112, STTN 124 and looking forward to more positions this year .
Navigating through my first year, first semester was not so easy as I was a shy student with communication problems , isolating myself, but when I return during the 2nd semester I made a strong decision through the influence of campus support services(peer mentor), and everything changed since then .
I excelled in my studies , becoming one of the best student in practical Statistics, and striving for more while setting goals,planning and managing time effectively.
With more efforts , I had an overall distinction during my 2nd year and looking forward to more successful final year, as I am excited to finish my degree this year while seaking opportunities for a postgrad degree.
Thank you North West University for building me up to who I am today , purple team army.

I will most definitely recommend this university to other people, because not only is it home away from home, it’s also a place where you have a variety of options career-wise in terms of what to study.

NWU has offered me a lot, from research tools for my assignment and studies to the vibrant student life offered on campus. They have a good balance between academic and fun activities to do in my free time. Academics are the main reason for me being there, but sports (like football) are part of the activities i like to do in my free time and they have made it a great experience so far and showed that its part of the things they prioritise outside of lecture rooms/studies. I’ve been pushed more than i have ever been in my life to strive for excellence in everything that i participate in and i might be oblivious to certain things but it’s been a great experience with only one complaint, CONSTRUCTION!!!

They break and build up a new improved you whilst still caring your preferences and needs at heart.
They encourage culture, diversity and do not take lightly to bullying nor barbaric behavior.

My time at North-West University studying for my BCom Honours in Economics and Risk Management was enlightening and rewarding, setting me up for success in the financial industry. I want to submit a subjectively good assessment that persuasively highlights the program’s strengths as a 2015 graduate.

The program’s extensive curriculum, which includes a wide range of subjects in risk management, finance, and economics, is one of its strongest points. Faculty members with extensive experience and a strong interest in their disciplines instruct the courses. Their knowledge and direction greatly aided in my comprehension of intricate economic concepts and ideas.

Additionally, the program emphasizes practical learning heavily. I was able to apply academic principles to real-world scenarios through case studies, simulations, and practical projects. The practical experience proved to be quite beneficial in enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The program’s emphasis on industry relevance is yet another feature. The curriculum is updated frequently to take into account the most recent advancements and trends in risk management and economics. By doing this, you can be confident that pupils are equipped to handle the demands of the constantly shifting financial situation.

NWU’s campus life is lively and welcoming, offering a variety of extracurricular pursuits and student associations. This improved my learning experience even more by giving me the chance to network with classmates and industry leaders.

All things considered, completing my BCom Honours in Economics and Risk Management at NWU was a life-changing experience that gave me the abilities and information required to be successful in the financial industry. I heartily endorse this curriculum to anyone interested in a future in risk management or economics.

North west university gives every student the possibility to achieve more with every support possible from the disability unit ,to thuso and more to ensure your journey to receiving a qualification is of the highest standard . Campus life is vibrant full of activities to engage yourself into learning more about who you will become and who you already are.my biggest highlight would be you are always able to get assistance from lectures, tutors ,and even the friends you will make or already have made .

Studying at NWU feels like being part of different cultures, languages, and perspectives. Every lecture hall is a mix of voices, every event a celebration of diversity. It’s not just a place to earn a degree it’s a place to learn how to live in a world full of difference and possibility.i love it here
