I’m currently a first-year student at North-West University, and I must say, it’s been a surreal experience so far. The student life and freedom are amazing, but it’s definitely a big change from what I was used to in high school. In high school, teachers were always on my case about submitting assignments and meeting deadlines, but here, it’s all about self-motivation and time management.
At first, I found it challenging to adjust to this new level of independence. I had to learn to prioritize my tasks and seek help whenever I needed it, which wasn’t always easy. But as I settled into the rhythm of university life, I started to enjoy the journey. I’ve met new people, made friends, and discovered new passions.
One thing I appreciate about NWU is the support system. There are plenty of resources available, from tutoring services to counseling, and the lecturers are always willing to help. I’ve also joined a few clubs and societies, which has helped me connect with like-minded people and build my confidence.
In summary, my experience at NWU has been incredible. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it. I’m learning to navigate the ups and downs of university life, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
