As a proud 2019 graduate of the Bachelor’s of Science in Geography program at North-West University, I can confidently say that my time in the department was incredibly enriching and prepared me well for a career in this diverse field. The program offered a comprehensive curriculum that delved into both the physical and human aspects of geography, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the spatial relationships that shape our world.

One of the standout features of this program was the strong emphasis on fieldwork and practical application. From day hikes in the nearby nature reserves to multi-day field trips across the region, we had numerous opportunities to get out of the classroom and experience geography firsthand. These excursions not only reinforced the theoretical concepts we learned but also allowed us to develop essential skills in data collection, mapping, and analysis.

The faculty members in the Geography department were true experts in their respective areas, and their passion for the subject was infectious. They encouraged us to think critically, ask questions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
