I enjoyed my 5 years at UCT between 1995 and 2000, graduating with a BA Honours in English Literature and Sociology. What a beautiful campus and a good experience it was. Looking back, I could have done more research on my subject choices and also participated more on campus initiatives. Having 2 jobs whilst studying added to my responsibilities. I find my studies very useful to my life as I can apply it to many of the different fields that I have subsequently been employed in.

This diversity promotes self-development, foreign language study, courage, and a strong sense of moral principles. There is always academic support available, and students are given the assistance they need to succeed academically. Health care facilities are conveniently located on campus and are all easily accessible at UCT.
View moreUCT has a reason for being the top university in Africa. This is since it provides highly equipped research, facilities and lecturers who are highly skilled and passionate in their area of expertise. In turn, this leads students to walk out of the university academically enriched and confident in their future career. This is precisely what I admire about UCT. However, with the university’s academically enriching programme, comes with it the extensive workload which could at times be very taxing on students. Nonetheless, if students manage to keep up with their work and stay organized, there is no doubt that they will still walk out successful. Therefore, for these reasons I would highly recommend UCT.
