I like the fact that I could be a part of the decision making process as the president of the Student council and a member of the Senate of the Faculty of Arts. Another great aspect is that I could study both Sociology and English.
View moreThe application process for most faculties opens in February and closes in September. The requirements are basic and the process is smooth. I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Chemical Sciences at a newly built faculty. The classrooms are of different sizes and are well-designed, with proper lighting, microphones, speakers, projectors, and seating arrangements. Each floor has three corridors named A, B, and C, making it easy to find any classroom or laboratory.
The laboratories are also new and fully equipped with all the necessary and latest laboratory equipment. We have a wide range of equipment, such as NMR, ICP-MS, XRD, SEM, TOC Analyzer, BET, and FTIRs. The teaching is excellent, with each subject taught by a specialist in the field. New topics and methods based on research are incorporated into the curriculum every year. The studies are complemented by lab work.
Every year, there is an open house where different companies come to meet with students. You can ask questions about the companies and apply to join their teams. The faculty has a student organization that organizes a variety of sports and recreational activities. There are also student dormitories that are very affordable.
Overall, this is a great, state-of-the-art, and fully equipped platform for studying, working, and enjoying life.

View moreUniversity of Ljubljana is a well respected and biggest university in Slovenia. It prides itself in forward thinking courses, that give young people an opportunity for growth. It is however important to carefully pick the faculty and the department of the field you are interested in working in. I enjoyed my studies at University of Ljubljana very much. It offers a broad horizon of courses, respected and interesting professors as well as extracurricular activities such as cultural and sport events, different clubs and workshops that help you develop – personally and professionally. I would suggest to future students of the university to try and find at least one activity beside their studies to help them expand their social circle, gain new skills and learn about employment possibilities the chosen field has to offer. I would absolutely recommend this university – as long as you are interested in learning new things about yourself and the world around you. Just keep in mind and take advantage of any summer school, lecture, internship or work opportunity your department has to offer.
View moreThe uni is ok. They dont give us a space to study, and some classrooms have been opened under Tito, but its still ok. Most of the Professors are pretty nice (some of them), but they do sometimes nag you for literally no reason, which is not particularly nice
View moreThe whole program is really on a high level. Apart from meteorology, that’s the most uninterestingly put subject there. The math requires a lot of theoretical knowledge, but the assistants are amazing and always take time to aid the students.
The same goes with other more specific EE subjects where the subject is presented in a clear way and the professors aren’t arrogant at all.
I mostly like it here. The environment is cool, and professors are understanding. If we sometimes forget about something, we are able to make a compromise about our work. They also dont give us too much workload, as they know that most of us works besides being in uni.

Whilst a couple of courses feel very obsolete and dreadful, the vast majority of them are really useful and give a good introduction to many different fields of research.
Also great lasagne.
