The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is an excellent choice that I would repeat. The courses are well structured and the professors are very dedicated. A lot can be learned. I’m studying software engineering, which has the disadvantage that the number of budget places is limited, but it’s very well designed, so in my opinion it’s worth it. College is demanding, but with good work habits it is not impossible to finish it on time.

It’s progressive. It’s future-oriented. The professors are very motivated to teach us programming and organizing business in the 21st century. And they teach us how to do it in the most efficient way. We also have a lot of student organizations where we can practise everything that is being taught.

I am studying at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade, Department of Computer Science and Informatics. The professors are mostly enthusiastic and pleasant. Problematic exams are analysis and geometry. Going to college is not obligatory, which is a disadvantage to some extent, because the material of each subject is important and demanding, and students thus relax when it comes to coming to college. The faculty is generally disorganized, the deadlines are very close to each other. We don’t have a canteen within the faculty, but it is close to the faculty, and it is cheaper and the food is delicious. The faculty is in the center of the city and is well connected with all parts of the city, so that students who come from other cities can easily manage. The faculty is promising and students are generally employed already in the middle of their studies. Also, it is quite old-fashioned, in the sense that there are no colloquia in many subjects, if the oral written sea falls again.

The classes and examinations are very well organized, for my major at least. We learn interesting and challenging material mostly but I do think there should be a wider selection for elective classes.
I find that the administration is more strict than I think it ought to be and the division for student help is unhelpful at times.

After spending 3 years at the University of Belgrade, studying at the School of Electrical Engineering, one of the harder Faculties in our University, i have noticed a few things.
First of all, there isn’t enough practical teaching at our University and students are doing a lot of theoretical courses, while not having enough practical knowledge which would help them in their academic path, as well as their professional path!
However, there is still a high standard to which students are held to and as far as academic honour is concerned our University does great to incourage students to do well on their own and without any illegal side help.
I would like to say that i respect our University and our rector for keeping up with the times and trying to correct the mistakes that have been noticed!

This university handled the pandemic professionally and with little trouble. For the first and second year, being the largest, most lectures were held online. The ones that had to be held in person were held to smaller groups of 10 students, following the countries health guidelines. For older years, the decision was left to the professors. Most classes were recorded and were available to watch online. It was handled with great care and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Well what I like is that you can actually gain the knowledge, but it’s very stressful. It’s stressful because you don’t know weather you’ll be on country’s budget or you’ll have to pay your fee yourself until the end of the year. And every year is the same, try to collect as many points as possible with high grades..

The University of Belgrade consists of many buildings all over the city. School of Electrical Engineering is located in the centre of Belgrade, and it has excellent connections with all parts of the town. Other than great location, School of Electrical Engineering is ranked in the top in the region. Moreover, the students which are enrolled are among the best ones in the country. The duration of studies is 4 years for Bachelor’s degree and 1 year for obtaining the Master’s degree. The entrance exam could be regarded as challenging, however, with good preparations, it isn’t that difficult and it will be completely worth it. A lot of hard work has to be invested in studies, nevertheless, most of the lectures are not obligatory. What is characteristic for this faculty is that students get a lot of valuable knowledge, and they are very adaptable to working conditions.
I study in the Department of Software Engineering. All classes are either in the morning or the afternoon depending on the year of studies. Laboratory exercises are always in the opposite shift. This is helpful since everyone is able to organize their time accordingly and not spend whole days at the university, which could be the case with other departments. The lectures are organized in blocks and each block lasts for 4 weeks and then we have one week with the only test, we have 3 blocks per semester, and then exam periods. What I value the most is the experience we are able to get during studies. Laboratory exercises are a great opportunity to put everything learnt in practice and they are organized relatively often. Also, we worked on many projects. Professors and assistants are in general very professional and there to help with any difficulty which might happen during the learning process.
Last but not least, I would like to mention that we have students organisations which are enriching the students’ life.
I would definitely recommend my department to anyone who is interested in programming. You will learn a lot and at the end of the studies, you will have many things to put into CV. Which will be certainly beneficial towards the professional career.

I believe the quality of different departments vary a lot, so I can only review the School of Electrical Engineering which I’m attending. Overall, we learn a lot, although we don’t dedicate enough time to anything specific to become proficient in it. It teaches us how to think like engineers, and problem solving, so that we can apply it to any problem. The facilities could be better as we do not have enough space or equipment. Professors keep their lectures relevant to the industry and keep up with new technologies, improving from year to year. I believe that we are well prepared after we graduate and can easily find a job.
