I cannot speak about the whole university, because I was a student of only one of its faculties, namely the one of Foreign Languages. I spent 5 years in my Alma Mater, living in the dormitory located nearby. The university has its pros and cons.
Speaking about advantages of applying into this institution, I have to say that most vacancies for applicants are free of charge, and those, for which you have to pay, are quite cheap (a rent for a room in the dormitory is also cheap). Another good point is a qualified teaching staff, at least in the faculty which I mentioned above. The main building of the university is situated near the biggest river in Europe, Volga, so you can contemplate a very exciting view there.
Now let me say a few words about cons of studying in this university. Firstly, there is no football stadium. How can a university which participates in the town’s completions has no stadium? I would also mention that my faculty’s building is pretty old and needs certain restorations.
But be sure that after graduation from ULSPU you will probably find a good job, not necessarily in schools.
