Online education is well implemented at the university, but I can only call online lectures useful. It is better to go to university for practical classes. My program “Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling” is quite consistent with my expectations. You have to study a lot, in the first or second year, there are many theoretical subjects (calculus, theoretical mechanics, linear algebra, physics). But there are also pairs on which we study simulation programs. However, you will achieve more by practising on your own after pairs. There are also a lot of extracurricular activities for every taste.

I didn’t think about where I want to go for a long time. Considered and studied information about the Polytechnic University. An important factor for me was the prestige of this educational institution. Very strong teaching staff, friendly students, new classrooms. I also became a member of the student council, which is a separate topic for conversation. Organization of events, weekly gatherings, trips. I found many new friends and gained valuable experience and knowledge while studying at this university.

So many activities, amazing! I attend many clubs and activities. I’m happy that the university can provide students with an active way of life, not only studying. Classes are also good and very useful in our life.

I am in my third year here now and gotta say, amongst Polytechnic Universities in Russia, it might be the best one. And the community here is just amazing. Terrible place to go into science though. Nothing too extraordinary comes to mind.

There are many extracurricular opportunities at this university. Many different studios, circles, associations. Choir, dance studio, energy club, EESTEC, BEST, tutors, adapters. You can find any activity you like. Get a very busy student life.
And a fairly large list of universities for exchange semesters and other academic mobility.

There were mostly good, motivated professors in my faculty.
Accommodation for my faculty is 10 dorms. The conditions are good there.

I entered after graduating from the Polytechnic Institute at St. Petersburg State University of Economics with honors as an accountant. Since I got married and was expecting a baby, it was very important for me what was needed for admission, what exams to take and for how many years. When I came to apply, I was very glad: after the technical school I was taken without passing any exams, for a shortened correspondence course (3.5 years), however, it turned out that the red diploma does not matter at all and there is no special enrollment or benefits The specialty “Finance and Credit” attracted me. I decided to go more into the banking sector. The university is very popular and is considered one of the best. The teachers are competent and friendly, in many ways they went to the meeting, the main thing is to hand over everything on time or with a slight delay, the main thing is to close everything before the end of the last year and of course attend classes)) We were engaged in our stream, in it there were 4 groups of about 25-30 people each. They sat in huge auditoriums and a particularly large number of people did not restrain themselves. At the University, the most diverse and interesting things are made and are offered to students. These are various concerts, exhibitions, trips, excursions, hikes and trips to nature and abroad, seminars and volunteer movements. Every time passing by the stands I study them with interest, although I myself I can’t participate due to lack of time with a small child. Fortunately or unfortunately, by the birth of the child, I wanted to pay for at least one session so as not to go to the institute, but I was told that there was no such thing and that it could not be bought, although I turned to a person who, in theory, would be responsible for it. I think that is very good , then our education is moving in the right direction. Now I work at Sberbank, I just got out of maternity leave, I am finishing my last course. I am gaining experience, because I can’t go anywhere without it. I plan to continue working in my specialty, maybe even more deeply.

This uni lets you balance all the aspects of your education in a way you want it. It regards all of it’s students equally, either you are a tryhard worker who spends every minute of his life studying (I’m not saying that’s a bad thing) or you just want to enjoy all the different social activities being in university provides you. Most of the professors are quite relaxed about their subject, so they won’t make you work hard if you don’t really want to. Of course, it is going to take a toll on your grades, but you will not be kicked out unless you give up on studying completely – but why would you go there in the first place then.

Also from what I have heard the university is quite high-regarded among employers, at least in Saint-Petersburg, so career prospects seem to be great, though I am still studying, so I can’t say for sure.

Accomodation is not bad, but is not great either, just what you would expect from an usual dormitory.

Student life is one of the greatest among all Russian universities, it really was one of the decisive factors i was considering when choosing where to get my degree.

The only thing that can be disappointing is that some of the facilities are too old and in the very bad conditions, though they are about to be repaired very soon.

Overall a great choice, would definitely recommend for anyone. Maybe try considering some other options if you want some scientific career, because the load is not as high, as in some other places, so if you want to really work hard every day, you may find the amount of studying insufficient, but that’s really not likely.

This university has an unbelievable atmosphere of 19-th century. Education is good and non-education activity also on height level. There are many specialities and extra courses, which you can study.
