I did my Bachelor’s Degree in Geology at University of Porto and throughout my three years at this institution, there were ups and lows. While at this University, I was part of the Student Association of my course, one of many Volunteering Programs that are part of the institution and U.Porto’s Mentorship Program (which is a must for anyone interested in attending this University), which gave me a broad experience and allowed me to meet several Students and Professors, as well as Workers from all the faculties within the University.
The structure of the University is well divided between Faculties, which are themselves divided in three different campus. The Professors are really accessible and mostly kind, even though I came across one or two Professors which I had a hard time to deal with. Most of the students are really friendly and helpful, creating an inclusive environment. Throughout the year there are lots of student organized events, which are a great fun to attend and allow a punctual distraction from all the studies. The University has a great social support system with reduced pricing for medical consults and free psychological support, which is great for stressed out students such as myself.
