Academics at Porto Business School

PBS offers MBAs, Open Executive Programs, Postgraduate Programs, Innovation Master Classes and Programs for Companies. The School uses a question-based model of teaching and learning in order to develop critical thinking, creativity and curiosity. It prepares individuals and organizations for prosperity in the rapidly changing world through the use of interactive technology in the delivery of course content.

There are two MBAs available at PBS – Executive MBA and the Magellan MBA. The programs are designed for professionals with over 10 years of experience and allow them to gain a contemporary understanding of the business environment and its challenges. The duration of the MBAs is one year, throughout which intensive education is provided to participants.

Open Executive Programs provide flexible training for individual and organizational development in areas such as General Management and Leadership; People Management and Personal Development; Digital, Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Marketing, Sales and Communication; Finance and Management Control; Operations and Projects as well as Sectoral Programs. The Programs are designed to fit around professionals’ work.

PBS’s Postgraduate Programs are 270-hour programs, which provide development solutions in students’ areas of interest. The Programs cover various fields, including Management, Digital and Innovation, Marketing and Sales, Finance and Management Control, Operations and Project as well as Sectoral Programs. Teaching begins after working hours.

Programs for Companies designed by the School along with HR professionals from within the companies address the skill gaps of their workforce. The content and methodologies used throughout the programs are designed to meet companies’ specific needs.

PBS offers Innovation Master Classes which are designed to allow participants to gain new perspectives on contemporary business topics and learn how to deal with managerial decisions more effectively

Campus & Student Life

PBS’s campus is located in Porto, which is a city in Northern Portugal. Porto is a vibrant city, which has been considered Best European Destination three times. The city is home to a lot of cultural sites, such as the São João National Theatre, Casa da Música and the Serralves Museum. The cuisine in Porto offers a wide range of delicious options, which make it really hard for students to choose what to get. Porto is also the home of Porto FC, which is one of the best clubs in the world with a rich history of achievements on the international football stage. Football fans have the great opportunity to attend matches live at “Estádio do Dragão”.

The School’s campus is close to various means of transportation. It is 10 km away from the Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport, which makes access to the school for international students easy. It is also 10 km away from the Campanha Train Station. The Sete Bicas Metro Station is only 100 m away from the campus.

PBS’s campus is spread over more than 10,000 m2. The study and social spaces on campus are open to students, staff and businesses 24/7. The campus is equipped with 21 classrooms, 1 auditorium with a capacity of 300 seats, 1 amphitheater and 48 work rooms. The School’s library is a perfect place for study and research. It provides an online database, reference works, business reports and other publications that students may need for their studies. The campus also has its own coffee shop and a restaurant.
