The first thing that comes to mind when you first see FEUP is to think of a big city! Its large departments spread across the college grounds are reminiscent of a bustling city with students in every corner. It has very nice places where you can study quietly, or even gardens where you can relax at intervals between classes.
Normally when one does not like to study, everything is demotivating, but in the case of FEUP, students are motivated to be the best and make the world a better place. A city of learning.
