Nova SBE really surprised me in the best way. The professors are not just knowledgeable, they care. They challenge you, guide you, and treat you like someone capable of solving real problems. The infrastructure is top notch, modern, and actually makes you want to spend time on campus.

I also liked how hands-on the classes were. They throw you into the fire from day one. It’s intense, but it pushes you to grow and think critically under pressure.

Another thing I loved is the location. The school is literally a few minutes from the beach, and the whole vibe in Carcavelos is super laid back and chill. It’s a great place to study if you like a balance between focus and peace.

That said, making friends as an international student can be tough. The student body isn’t as diverse as it might seem on paper. A large part of the students are German, Portuguese, or Italian, so it takes a bit more effort to build connections if you’re from somewhere else.

Still, if you’re looking for a challenging and career-focused school where you’ll be pushed to grow, I’d definitely recommend it.

Really hands-on experience, with tons of international students. Great student vibe and lots of out-of-class actions. Professors have good practical experience and help outside of class hours. I can recommend!

Nova SBE has an excellent community, with lots of student clubs and a vibrant nightlife (there are great discounts with Nova SU partners).
In general, the professors and teaching assistants are excellent, but there are always some exceptions. As this is a public university with a large student population, it is to be expected that academic support will be minimal. This academic support isn’t always great. You have to be independent and confident, and you should seek help if you need it.
The campus is almost perfect – it’s really amazing. There’s a wide range of food options, a gym, a library and direct access to the beach, where you’ll find amazing surf schools and places to eat açaí.
In my opinion, the only negative points are the low number of sports activities the campus offers (only five in Carcavelos; the rest, around ten, are in Lisbon) and the limited range of electives compared to other universities abroad, at least in economics. The school is more focused on business and finance than economics, but it’s almost as good in this field.

Note for future students: don’t forget to enjoy the social activities promoted by the SU, and try to meet new people at the beginning of the semester/year – all of those connections will be important in the future!

It has a great environment, good lectures that for normal skill level and advanced. Very new infrastructure as well, only criticism is that the transport to get there is poor. Otherwise would recommend.

Evening was great, the class size in general is a bit more around 70. But the infra is amazing …
