Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.

View moreStudying at SGH is intense, but it’s incredibly rewarding if you’re serious about economics and finance. The professors here aren’t just academics, many of them have real-life experience in consulting or government, which brings so much to the classes. My favorite course has been Macroeconomics because it feels so relevant to today’s economy, and we often discuss current events. The campus has a historic charm, and there’s a strong community vibe. SGH students are ambitious and driven, so you’re constantly pushed to improve. The networking events are amazing too – you can meet industry leaders and alumni who give valuable career advice. Socially, SGH is smaller than other Warsaw universities, but that makes it easier to connect with people. it’s challenging but very rewarding if you’re motivated to build a strong foundation in economics.
View moreSGH is a great university that exposes you to both the theoretical and practical aspects of international economics and business. It is full of diverse students and offers a high level an interactive educational experience. I would definitely recommend the institution to a friend but would advice to be ready for rigorous learning because passing and completing the study plan is taken very seriously.
View moreI would say that the main thing that I like about the university is the career opportunities you get from the school because it has partnerships with different companies like Accenture and other economic related firms. The school helps you find an internship during the last semester in good companies in the country. Additionally the location is in central warsaw.I do not like the fact that it is not flexible when it comes to people who would like to work and study because most classes are in the morning and the number of black students is very low.
View moreI feel my university is good for teaching the basics of the market, helping young people to understand what they will be facing when applying for a job in a company
But if don’t except they will teach you how to run a business of any kind Or good management
It’s all basic system at least at a bachelor’s degree
Professors are helpful and professionals. Moreover, the university cooperates with different employers in order to help students for creating professional careers. There are good possibilities for research and scientific work.
