It is Poland’s leading technical university and a public school. They do not accept everyone to university. They have an acceptance rate of approximately 75%. I graduated from a 2-year vocational school in Turkey. From the electrical and electronics department. And I applied to Politechnika for electrical engineering. I sent my transcript and my B2 English certificate from American Culture when I applied. After reviewing my documents, they agreed for me to start taking department classes directly rather than taking the preparatory class.

I started taking classes in October 2013. I was 1 month late and the classes were really difficult. If you just cheat or fail to attend, you will definitely not pass the course.

The professors are respected and knowledgeable. If they understand that you are really trying to learn, they are helping you learn; you can spend more time in labs and observe next groups exercises or you can ask your questions to teachers. They are answering your questions patiently. If you fail the exam, you can take extra projects, it will help you to increase your grade and pass from the course.

Participation in laboratory classes is especially important because they don’t provide flexibility. At the end of the year, there is only one extra lesson and you can only comprehend one of your missing projects.

That sounds like a very interesting and challenging experience! How was it for you as an international student coming from abroad? Was it really that difficult to adapt to the courses and the level of study at WUT, especially in Electrical Engineering? Did you find the professors and other students supportive, or was it mostly tough at first?
