Studying at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad, Pakistan, offers a unique and diverse academic experience. NUST is renowned for its rigorous academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and vibrant campus life.
View moreAs a second-year Masters student at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), I have found the academic experience to be profoundly enriching compared to my previous university where I completed my bachelor’s degree. NUST has provided me with a distinctly different perspective on the learning environment. One aspect that particularly stands out to me is the institution’s strong emphasis on research, which has greatly enhanced my academic journey. Additionally, the vibrant campus life at NUST has exposed me to a multitude of new experiences and opportunities for personal and intellectual growth. Overall, my time at NUST has been characterized by a stimulating atmosphere conducive to both academic excellence and holistic development.
View moreI graduated from the Military College of Signals one of the oldest schools of NUST. The original purpose of the school was to train military engineers but later on, it was decided that civilian students would motivate the military students by giving them some tough competition.
In my opinion, although the thought was good implementation was poor. The unnecessary military restrictions for civilian students harm and hamper the studies of civilian students. Limited internet access, monitored network and little to no events allowed in the college is making the student life dull and boring
Likes: The university has a huge campus, sports complex, bowling, cafes, riding club and beautiful horticulture. It has a diverse student body from across the country and international students as well. Has a lot of student run societies offering a lot of extra curricular activities.
Dislikes: it’s bureaucratic in structure therefore the administration can be very uncooperative. Faculty is also sometimes dissatisfied with the administration leading to turnover. Student feedback is taken but not acted upon. University decisions are many times illogical and impractical e.g the recent alumni homecoming event was held on Friday (a working day) from morning till 6 pm (office hours).
