Kinnaird College for Women is a fine institution for women in Lahore, Pakistan. I did my bachelor’s in Media Studies from this university (2021-2025). I learned a lot of variety of things in my four years of university. Typically everyone thinks of media as “journalism” but in these courses and excellent professors, i learned how board this field of study is. I got to dissect and learn extensively about each field; Electronic Media, Print media, Digital Media and Advertising. Kinnaird truly made my degree much more fun because of all practical applications instead of theoretical work which for me stood out the most.

Kinnaird College for Women holds a strong reputation and provides a structured academic foundation, especially in fields like nutrition. However, in my experience, the learning environment does not always support student voices or evolving educational needs. While the college carries prestige, it struggles to meet the expectations of modern learners in terms of facilities, faculty support, and open communication.

What I Like:

Rich legacy and reputation in women’s education

Opportunities for presentations, research, and academic exposure

A culturally diverse and intellectually stimulating campus

What I Dislike:

Student opinions are often not valued or encouraged, limiting positive change

A rigid hierarchical system in administration

Lack of basic classroom amenities (no air conditioning, uncomfortable seating)

Faculty in some departments are not as supportive or effective in teaching

Study environment could be more student-friendly and motivating

Would I Recommend It?
I would recommend Kinnaird only to students who value discipline and independence, and who can manage academic responsibilities on their own. While it offers some valuable experiences, I believe significant improvements are needed in administration, teaching quality, and learning facilities to meet modern academic standards.

My experience has been a wonderful one. Everything, from the faculty to the fellows, from classrooms to cafeteria, has contributed to this University’s immense value. This place is my second home.
