A lot of students have become dropouts because of incessant failures in their courses due to the harsh environment for learning.
The fact that this is not a point of concern to our leaders is quite appalling. There’s lack of provision for learning facilities thereby providing lesser understanding to what students are being taught which in turn leads to failure. Furthermore, some of the education policies are not favourable to students, the national education body collaborate with our schools to make policies that are unfavorable to some set of students thereby giving birth to university dropouts forgetting that levels of intelligent quotients are different. Our lecturers are not helping matters as some of them extort from students in the name of manuals. There’s a department, name withheld, about 57 students were admitted in 2020 as pioneers of the department but due to the harsh policies meted out by the Head of Department in the guise of National body’s policy, the department has successfully produced about 30 dropouts after a lot of pleas and appeals to the leadership of the school. The said students were not defaulters of any law in the school, their only crime was to join the department without prior knowledge of the requirements since they were pioneer students. Hopefully, in subsequent future, the university will be favourable to everyone.
