University of Port is a really good university. There’s good environment, great lecturers and extracurricular activities especially the football games.
During my time as a student, there’s this law that ensures student must pay fees for each academic year else they won’t seat for exams. It was really bad and puts a lot of students under pressure

My experience at the University of Port Harcourt was both challenging and rewarding. One of the best parts was being chosen as a research assistant by my professor, which gave me the chance to work on a project and present it before professors from all over Nigeria. This exposure really improved my confidence and practical skills. The professors were knowledgeable and supportive, though administrative processes can sometimes be very frustrating and slow. Overall, Uniport offers strong academic support and great opportunities for students who are eager to learn and grow and I would recommend the University of Port Harcourt to students who are motivated and eager to take advantage of the opportunities available.

It is a nice place for anyone to study in. The have well and highly grounded lecturers. The have a great scheme of work and are highly innovative.
I would suggest adding more programs especially technology programs.

I love everything about uniport, it really fun and as well stressful apart from Assu strike . It really made me loose interest to go back to school , but ThankGod I was able to conquer nd am almost done with my program.

My University has its own uniqueness, although we don’t really get the most of what we came there to study and its just as though we are passing time. The lecturers aren’t able to properly execute what is to be taught due to the constant Strike and economic situation. What makes it unique that I absolutely love is that we get to go on lots of field trips which tends to cover up for the areas we missed. It’s an experience nonetheless.

University of Port Harcourt is a great school in terms of theory, I love the fact that I learnt a lot in my department. The university also shaped my social life and my believe in God.The fact that we do not have adequate or enough practical equipment or laboratory, to help us understand the course is a problem.

I think the University of Port Harcourt is a great school. It has produced thousands of alumni who are successfully advancing in their careers and making impacts in their various fields. The university is notably called “The Entrepreneurial University”.

However, it is evident that Uniport faces the same problem other government owned institutions face here in Nigeria. They are often the issues of inadequate funding, lacking infrastructure, poor academic systems, lack of student support and several others.

I am a Year 3 student ot Biomedical Technology at the University of Port Harcourt. I actually transferred to my current course from the Pharmacy school in this same institution. My experience has been pretty eventful, but marked with the common challenges of schooling in a Nigerian public school. I’m however of the belief that my experience here will serve to prepare me for pursuing a career in Bioinformatics.

University of Port Harcourt is one of the best university in Africa once rate the best university in West Africa in the year 2015. The teach and lay much emphacy on hard and smart work. It is a school that does not only rely on normally or regular teachings but teaches student on enterpreneuership and how to be self depended.

I actually like the university because of the emphasis laid on entrepreneuership, self reliance and disciplune.

But why they are good in doing these, they lack most vital equipments to foster the teachings. And most lecture rooms or class rooms are very bad and left unkempt.

Attending Uniport was quite the experience. The environment is student friendly and getting around the school is not cumbersome. There are a number of serene study places and the main campus is beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the library, it’s just spectacular. In the faculty of science, the teaching method adopted is very practical and hands-on. The lecturers are friendly and encourage healthy teacher-student relations which enhances learning. I love how the lecturers are easily accessible and ready to assist. Studying Plant Science and Biotechnology was enlightening, challenging and worthwhile.
However they are yet to provide proper and efficient support for students. Sometimes teachers don’t hold classes without prior notice. I particularly don’t like the idea of the academic board having veto power over students; and the opinions of students are not really aired. This is very common among Nigerian Universities.
Notwithstanding, if you give your best as a student in Uniport, you will shine bright.
Uniport is a good University and I recommend it.
