Metering people here is very very common but your ideas might not be welcome if you don’t go through the right channel. You have to trend your name and make people know the name even before they get to understand what you are pushing out. Like visiting the sports centre, greeting the students in the stand and try to express yourself and let them know the name.
It won’t be a coincidence when you meet another time and try to share an idea or something with them. They would gladly listen as they’ve met you before. You meet the good set of people if you connect well on campus.

View moreWhen I first told someone how that I got admission to study in my school, as an alumnus, he said “if you’re able to survive this school, there’s no challenge that will come your way that you won’t overcome successfully”.
I thought it was a joke until I got in and realized that it is very challenging.
I mean, how do you explain that in my department, nobody is in first class yet? Yet we read like it’s no man’s business. The tension during exam is usually crazy. On one hand, you’re afraid that at the end of the day, the efforts you have put into reading might not show off. This is especially bad for me because there are some opportunities I know I’m very capable of but might never get because of the strict grading system.
Then there’s the lecture rooms that are not usually conducive. Sometimes, you barely hear or understand what the lecturers are saying even if you manage to sit at the front. But how can we understand when the curriculum is old and is not in sync with current technological advancement?
Practicals are always a hassle too. Even the most basic things like getting an exam pass or accessing the school’s health center is always “war”. We literally struggle for everything here.
Despite these things, I would recommend because it’s a training ground for people who want to learn discipline. Struggling to get things done instills a sense of doggedness and that in itself is a recipe for success.
What’s more? There’s this sense of community, which means that you get to cultivate valuable relationships along the way.
