I’m currently in my third year at Lagos State University, and to be honest, the journey has not been easy — but it’s been worth it in many ways. Coming from a background where things are not always smooth financially, getting this far in my education has taken a lot of sacrifice, focus, and faith.
LASU has its own challenges — sometimes the facilities are not what they should be, and there can be delays with academic calendars. But despite all that, I’ve grown a lot here. The school has taught me to be strong, to speak up for myself, and to keep pushing no matter what.
I’ve had some really good lecturers who are passionate and want students to succeed, and that keeps me going. I’ve also met classmates who are now like family — we help each other with studies, share opportunities, and encourage one another when things get hard.
So far, this experience has taught me more than just what’s in the books. It has taught me real-life survival, how to be resourceful, and how to never give up even when the odds are against you.
I still have one more year to go, and I’m hopeful for the future. I want to finish strong and use everything I’ve learned here to build a better life — not just for me, but for my family too.
