IMSU is located exactly in the heart of Owerri, the capital of Imo state and that makes it a hub of constantly happening activities, day in day out.
The neighbouring communities are by far more accessible than other universities in the state such as FUTO or Alvan ikoku or Nekede poly because those other institutions are relatively remote.
It is very close to Ikenegbu which is where I personally lived in my days as a student and it is close to strategic places such as control, from which you can travel in an out from the state towards Onitsha or Port Harcourt.
I didn’t encounter any professors who I would seem unfriendly though everyone tried to be as serious as possible with the students to maintain professionalism.
The campus life and activities are very interesting and garner attention from the state as a whole because of its location so things like rag day, cultural day or sug week are very publicised.
Classes are generally taken seriously by lecturers and the lecturers didn’t set any examination questions on subject which they hadn’t covered, which is also a plus for me in the academics aspect.
