My opinion is the school was good in educational activities but the manpower that is lecturers were bearly around. But it was ok generally we tried to navigate through it all. Yes, I will recommend the school to someone else because they try so hard to meet up with the educational practice in the world.View more
The classes are fine, and the lecturers deliver engaging talks. I value the way the teachers engage with the students as well. The accommodations are outstanding, and the amenities are superb. I like how rapidly the academic year goes by. The facilities at the school are well built and equipped. Life as a student is quite tough.View more
Excellent policies, lecturers, and surroundings.
Poor hostels and lodging. If you truly want to enjoy your stay, you should make every effort to reside off campus.
shoddy workshops and facilities
Finally, FUTO is a fantastic institution
Good lecturers, good policies, great environment.
Bad hostels and accommodations. You should try your best to live off campus if you really want to enjoy your stay.
Poor facilities and workshops
In the end, FUTO is a great school…
Federal University of Technology, Owerri is an institution I am proud to have attended. The student dormitories are renovated occasionally to enable the students comfort. Sadly, sometimes there was no water for the students to use. That happened rarely though.View more
I am writing out the name in remembrance of the good, bad and fun-filled time the school offered me. As with most schools in Nigeria, FUTO was for me one of the best schools to attend. Yes, the school fee is low, Yes we had cramped spaces such as lecture rooms, and Yes there are cases of students being extorted by lecturers but still, the school offered a whole pack of opportunities. What I do not like about FUTO would be its slow process of switching to a computer-based institution whereby everything can be done online, also its lack of good quality outdoor spaces where students could hang out. I remembered my first day in school like it was yesterday, although it’s been seven years now… had a tough time locating the school, luckily I was not robbed. One year of pre-degree was smooth as a breeze, then the real deal in when I gained admission to the Department of Agricultural Economics… for the school, the first two years, all departments in the faculty have combined lectures and that was terrible because there was no conducive learning environment for over seven hundred students, but as always, the onus of learning lies with the student. From my third year, we had separate classes which were nice. I had some of the best lecturers, who were always committed to their work. My course was a good start to a broad carrier path. Would I recommend anyone to FUTO, ABSOLUTELY!View more
I like that they take engine drawing practice seriously. The land area is huge. But lacks enough buildings and machinery and equipment for students for most courses, especially in the engineering field. Most of the practical classes are actually not what they seem, with a class overcrowded with students and faulty and rusty practical tools and machines.View more
