UNN is actually of the best federal universities in the eastern part of Nigeria but sadly her students face a lot of challenges. The first is the high cost of school fees. It’s supposed to be a federal university and federal universities are meant to be relatively cheaper than their state and private counterparts but that is not the case in UNN. Secondly is the unavailability of housing options. the hostels are few considering the number of students it admits every year and the only option for students is to live off campus in self-funded apartments. I would have given a 5-star rating but why would a university that doesn’t have proper accommodations for its students have a five-star rating?

What I don’t like is the issue of more theory than practice. Some departments weren’t able to go on fieldwork or excursions that related to their departments. It was basically more of the classroom which at some point became dull and boring to learn.
