If you’re looking to experience what it means to study in a Nigerian school, then UNN is the best place for you. Aside from the fact that we pride ourselves on being the only University of Nigeria, we are on a journey to restore the dignity of man both in character and in learning.

My days at UNN were far from rosy; it was a bitter-sweet mix of learning, training, adventures, volunteering, competitions, and ushering at events (yes, I did that a lot in school, mostly to attend conferences). And these all came with their equal measure of frustration, disappointments, failures, setbacks…

What kept me going most of the time was my determination to reach the finish line of the race, being the first in my father’s house to go to the university. 🥲

I experienced 3 ASUU strikes(you might want to Google that up if you’re not Nigerian), plus the covid and they all contributed to prolonging my stay in school.

In all, I’m most grateful to GOD for the gift of people He placed at strategic places at specific times when I needed them.

2019 was my best year in school, it ushered me into different opportunities through my participation in various extracurricular activities. The one that stood out for me was ENACTUS (again, please Google that up).
As a member, through my participation in the team’s project, I got selected to represent our school at the National Competition in Lagos.
PS: That was my first time in Lagos! 🤭

Oops! This review is getting too long, I’ll just leave you with this: school is not a scam, many years later, you’d thank yourself for putting in the work, every experience and moment counts, live it!

I would recommend this university. It has conducive learning environment for the students with flexible lecture hours. The lecturers are nice and friendly and always ready to assist students. Campus life is fun and there are a lot of exciting experiences for students.

Studying in the university of Nigeria Nsukka was quite a thrilling adventure altogether. I got to come in contact with a lot of amazing friends and lecturers in the process as well as enjoyed my course of study.

The downsides are inadequacy in facilities to help students such as healthcare services, decent accommodation, infrastructure and security.

Regarding processes such as technical support for IT related issues, the response is not as rapid and there is a history of inaccuracy in record computing due to staff shortages, not a lot of literate non-academic staff and work overload. Examination time tables are not always accurate and due to a direct affiliation with the Nigerian Government and student union in federal universities around Nigeria, the school’s calendar occasionally encounters a halt in academic activities due to academic union strikes which can affect the smooth running of the academic year.

The upsides is that it has an affordable fee and accommodation plans for students as well as off campus rentals. A standard library although not often updated but has necessary backdated materials to aid research. There are also scholarship plans for students with amazing academic records. There are also amazing social and academic activities that emerge during the school year to empower students as well as give them a moment to let their hair down. Overall, it’s a standard institution.
