I hope the Curtin Mauritius staffs will read this.
I am a student at Curtin Mauritius and I am so frustrated. we have asked for proms night, end of academic year, concerts and similar events to be organised at the campus since WE DO NOT have these activities happening during our university year and THEY REFUSED. I never attended these events and I was expecting to experience this during my academic year at Charles Telfair but it turned out that this university/campus is so lame. we are paying nearly Rs 1 million rupees and we are not even offered an event? what kind of injustice is that? studying is good but what about our social life? each Fridays they organise “events” but let me tell you that they are ALL SO BORING. these kind of events should have been for kids, not young adults. they have just built a large parking at the back of the campus, can they at least organise a big event for the students this year!!!??
also, I have never experienced a tour trip abroad. for instance they could organise trips where students go to Europe, USA, Australia etc. they must do it very often.
moreover, the Curtin Mauritius graduation is so awkward and boring again. let me start since I have been witnessing the Curtin Mauritius graduations for the past few years. first of all, the venue is so small except the hall, which is the Trianon Convention Centre. the graduates do not have the right to go outside the hall before the ceremony to take pictures, and this is absolutely unfair!! second, they do not decorate the hall with curtin university’s logo backdrop where graduates can take pictures. compared to curtin university Australia’s graduation, we are so BORING. even middlesex university mauritius got a more entertaining graduation than us. for curtin Australia, they have an alumni corner during the graduation and they have firecrackers after the ceremony. they organise a big dinner and concert after the graduation ceremony. at the entrance door, they sell graduation teddy bears, which WE DO NOT have at Curtin Mauritius.
why not changing the graduation ceremony venue and do it on a large green space area where it will be actually more fun, more entertaining and more wonderful?
Curtin Mauritius/Charles telfair are giving us the most boring academic years of our lives as adults.
before I graduate in less than 2 years, I expect to see these changes and to at least experience the events, the tour trips and the new organised graduation mentioned above.
