IIUM is more than a university; it’s a melting pot of cultures and Islamic values. Coming from a different background, I was amazed by how seamlessly Islamic teachings were integrated into daily life—lectures start with prayers, and even engineering discussions have ethical considerations. The campus in Gombak is breathtaking, with lush greenery and the iconic Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque at its heart. The lecturers truly care; I once struggled with a Shariah law assignment, and my professor guided me patiently. If you want a holistic education grounded in faith, IIUM is the place.

For me, My experience at the International Islamic University Malaysia has been enriching both academically and personally. The multicultural environment is one of the university’s greatest strengths, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to learn together. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, often encouraging critical thinking and open discussions about various topics, especially in Islamic studies and social sciences.
However, there are challenges. The campus facilities, while generally adequate, can sometimes feel outdated. The administrative processes can be slow, making registration and other services frustrating at times. Additionally, while there are numerous clubs and activities, I wish there were more opportunities for professional development and internships to better prepare us for the job market.
