Subject: Review on Scholarship Allocation at Vytautas Magnus University
As a full-time second-year student, I, along with many others, have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to receive a fee reduction based on academic performance. Unfortunately, this year, scholarships at Vytautas Magnus University are being offered only to disabled students and Ukrainian nationals, leaving out regular full-time students.
This change has caused significant frustration and disappointment among the student body. Many of us have worked extremely hard with the expectation that our academic efforts would be recognized and rewarded through the scholarship program. The exclusion of full-time students has broken the hopes of many who rely on these scholarships to help manage the financial burden of their studies.
While we fully support the inclusion of scholarships for those in special circumstances, it feels unfair to disregard the contributions and achievements of the broader student population. We hope that the university will reconsider this decision and reinstate merit-based scholarships for full-time students, ensuring a more inclusive and equitable system for all.
This review is aimed at highlighting the concerns of many students and advocating for a more balanced approach to scholarship distribution at Vytautas Magnus University.
