Studying International and European Law at Vilnius University has been a genuinely enriching experience. The programme combines solid academic depth with a practical understanding of how international and EU institutions work. As a student of the Master’s programme in International and European Law at Vilnius University, I can say that the programme offers a strong balance between academic depth and practical relevance. The courses are well-structured and focus on contemporary legal issues, including EU law, public international law, human rights, and emerging global challenges.
One of the most valuable aspects of the programme is its international environment. Studying in English alongside students from different countries creates a dynamic academic atmosphere and encourages comparative thinking. Overall, this programme has strengthened my analytical skills, deepened my understanding of international and European legal systems, and prepared me for further academic or professional opportunities in the global legal field.
I have no complaints and I thought it is great so I’d give it 4 stars. Vilnius University has good looks and infrastructure, and it also has a historical background, which makes it perfect for getting knowledge. The programme International and European Law provides a comprehensible syllabus regime with profound teachers. However, it has been pointed out that the program is quite large and thus is unable to provide enough attention to students, and some of parts of the curriculum may require changes to reflect current legal provisions. Thus, it could be stated that it is rather a powerful program which offers rather sound preparing for lawyer.

View moreVilnius University is a historic and academically strong university with good professors and a beautiful campus. However, it is not always very friendly for international students. The exam system is quite strict, and only one free retake is allowed. Unlike many universities in Germany or Italy, additional retakes usually require extra payment, which can create financial pressure for students.
