Serving as a Class Representative in the Computer Science program at Mount Kenya University was an inspiring and valuable experience. It gave me the opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while representing my classmates.

What stood out most to me was the strong support from both the lecturers and the department. Our professors were knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to guide us — especially in challenging units like Data Structures, Programming, and Database Systems. Their practical approach made learning easier and more engaging.

I also appreciated the sense of teamwork among students. As a class representative, I helped organize study groups, share updates from the department, and ensure that everyone stayed informed and motivated. Campus life at MKU was lively and inclusive, with plenty of opportunities to grow academically and socially.

Overall, being a class representative in Computer Science at Mount Kenya University taught me accountability, collaboration, and leadership — skills that continue to shape my personal and professional growth. I would highly recommend this program to students who are passionate about technology and innovation.

I joined the university around May 2021, and it has been a pleasant experience.. from the lectures to the lecturers, the library and e- resources, everything and everyone is reliable.
The lecturers go out of their way to help the students whenever the need arises.

Mount Kenya University is a reputable university in the East African region with well trained staff who are extremely knowledgeable and helpful to students. It offers diploma, undergraduate and graduate programs. My favorite thing about MKU is that the study options are vast and unique hence anyone can find a program that is suitable for them. As a personal example, I am undertaking a bachelor’s degree in Business and IT. It’s a modern and interesting degree which isn’t very common in most tertiary institutions. My least favorite thing about the university is the campus life. It isn’t as vibrant and exciting as one would expect. There aren’t many after-school activities for students to engage in nor are there many extracurricular programs.

Mount Kenya University is a private multi-campus institution. I find the university so interesting and culture-wise it is a great place to be. MKU organizes a sports and culture event every semester where students come together and compete nationally. The kind of sports and games are, basketball, rugby, swimming, long tennis, table tennis, athletics, pool games, soccer, darts, skating, and badminton. There is no boring day on the MKU campus. I just love this place.

Mt.Kenya university is a private university situated in Thika town. It is commonly known as Miku but the immediate community. Since I joined this special university I have experienced good student relations and I am happy to share some of the experiences that I have gone through. Students’ rights to education, free speech, movement, freedom from discrimination, and freedom from harassment are all observed. At Mt. Kenya University every one rests assured that no one will attempt to violate any of their rights.

Mount Kenya University is a multicampus university with its main branch in Thika, Kenya. The campuses are widely spread in Africa and are the best across Africa. The university buildings are well built and beautiful, tall buildings have elevators installed to ease moving students from one floor to another. I admire the way the structures are built.
