My time Makerere University as a Civil Engineering student was transformative. The program’s emphasized not only theoretical work but also the practical applications that equipped me with the skills needed to excel in the field. The well-equipped laboratories at the university provided hands-on experience that bridged the gap between theory and practice. Beyond academics, opportunities for internships and involvement in student bodies like the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) allowed me to build valuable connections within the construction industry. Generally, Makerere University’s civil engineering program provided a solid foundation for my career, and I’m grateful for the experience. I would definitely recommend it for any student willing to pursue studies in that field.

Makerere University offers a quality and accredited degree. It is reputable in the region. The university offers a wide range of programs across various faculties, allowing students to pursue their passion and interests. The university boasts impressive facilities such as modern lecture theaters, well-equipped laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities. The availability of these facilities enhances the learning experience and provides students with opportunities for physical and mental development. Makerere University also has a diverse student body with students from the region and beyond. Interacting with students from different backgrounds and cultures promotes cultural understanding and broadens one’s perspective. Unpleasantly though, The university’s infrastructure, especially some of the older buildings, requires improvement. Poorly maintained facilities can hinder the learning experience and affect student morale.

As a civil e student at Makerere University, I can say that this course offers a comprehensive and rigorous education. The program is known for its high academic standards and experienced faculty members who are dedicated to providing students with a solid foundation in the field. Most of the faculty members are actively involved in research and industry practice. Students benefit from their expertise and guidance throughout their studies. The course provides practical training in addition to theoretical knowledge, giving us the opportunity to apply what they have learned in real-world scenarios. Quality of life is cheap and most of the things are affordable on campus.

Makere university to me is the best public university in Uganda with about 101 years of operation. In that case therefore i will be right to say its the best because of the experience it holds in higher education. What i like is there is independency and a high degree of self drive… the most of the duties are assigned to students and the serious ones will succeed. Also there are many students which gives me chance to learn ways of other people moreso people of different tribes. I would highly recommend it because it builds a whole good person academically and socially
