Makerere University, located in Kampala, Uganda is renowned for it’s academic excellence and rich history. As one of the oldest universities in Africa, Makerere University has made quite a name for itself in regards to higher education, research and innovation.
One thing I love about the university is the diverse and vibrant learning community. This is because we have students from various backgrounds and cultures which encourages collaboration, critical thinking and cultural exchange.
The downside is occasional disruptions due to political or social unrest. This happened mainly during the campaigning seasons for leaders.
I would definitely recommend it to someone with a thick skin because the learning process is a bit intense.

Makerere University has excellent user-friendly library and ICT services. I particularly enjoyed reading in the library in the evenings when day scholars had gone back to their homes or hostels. Makerere University also has excellent ICT facilities.

Makerere University is the best university in Uganda and is among the top 10 universities in the East African region. The university is the oldest in Uganda as it was established in 1922.
The 100years that the University has existed are highlighted with numerous developments. The University has 9 colleges and 1 School which teach different disciplines. The teaching at the University is student centered and the faculty members simply guide the students on this journey. The staff members work for the good of the students rather than against them.
The tuition fees are quite affordable and can be paid in installments.
The university has modern developments that are inclusive of all persons such as persons with disabilities.
Besides supporting students academic endeavors, the University supports a number of extracurricular activities such as sports.

Makerere University is a reputable institution with a rich academic history. As a student, I highly recommend it for several reasons. Firstly, the university offers a wide range of academic programs, ensuring that every student can pursue their desired field of study. The professors are experienced and knowledgeable, providing a conducive learning environment. The campus is vibrant and filled with various student activities, making the university experience enjoyable. Makerere University also has excellent research facilities, allowing students to engage in groundbreaking research. Overall, I highly recommend Makerere University for its strong academic programs, dedicated faculty, vibrant campus life, and ample research opportunities.
