The UWI Mona has the potential to evolve into the perfect environment to breed and develop the best minds the Caribbean has seen. As I am not fully educated on the subject of my school I cannot fully and truthfully attest, though based on my narrowed perspective, the system it relies upon to operate on a daily could use restructuring. It is no longer seen as a school among its inhabitants. More a business to make money off the educational goals of others. I cannot however voice any concrete complaints at this time though I will comment on the lack of creativity in some lectures and the dullness they bring. The UWI Mona is a community and a chance to expand your connections, so I will end off by saying it is still a good if not the best opportunity for inhabitants of the Caribbean to receive higher education and boost themselves in the preparation for life incoming.

I appreciate UWI for its practical approach to learning, which aligns with my career goals of working with future students. The emphasis on research and hands-on experiences resonates with my core philosophy, especially in STEM subjects. However, I found the workload demanding, as it involved both theory and extensive practical work, which was challenging with my busy schedule. The university’s knowledgeable professors did their best to provide quality education, but I wished for more advanced facilities to support the research-driven programs. What stood out to me were the engaging classes and the support from professors, but I felt the campus life could be more vibrant. Overall, I would recommend the University of the West Indies, particularly if you are passionate about integrating education into the real world.

The university has a good social balance with activities and programs, lecturers were will in depth and had a good grasp on classes, what i didnt like was the slow administrative turnaround time. Applications would take a while to be processed.

When attending UWI Open Campus there is an amazing opportunity for students who wish to work to have the opportunity to do so whilst studying. Classes, assignments, exams or any other activity is done in a way to allows students the opportunity to join their classes and still tend to other duties. Classes are mainly recorded along with PDF as well as presentations for student reference. This allows students to study at their own pace.
