Rex Nettleford’s words, “UWI is arguably our finest gift to ourselves and we must never let it wither on the vine,” are prominently displayed at UWI and truly reflect the importance of this institution. I firmly believe that UWI is a cornerstone of Caribbean education, and I highly recommend pursuing a degree there. It offers invaluable opportunities for personal and academic growth while making a significant contribution to the development of the region.

My university boasts a diverse community with individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Being from the relatively small island of Jamaica, it isn’t always easy to encounter people from around the world. Hence, I appreciate that UWI has created a safe space for such interactions.
