View moreThe University of Salerno has an amazing Campus where you can find all the needs for a students: 2 library (scientific and humanistic), a canteen, post office, police station, swimming pool and other spots for sport. The list continues…
About the educational part, this university have a really good quality of teachers but we can say that the quality of the laboratory is not still on top but it’s growing day by day.
A lack for sure is the transportation system, in fact the Campus is not located in the city center but in Fisciano (15km far from Salerno). The buses, especially on the weekend, are not so efficient.
The University of Salerno (UniSa) is one of the biggest universities in Italy in terms of numbers of students. It features a huge campus and all buildings have been named and coloured in order to reflect the faculty which they belong to. Some of the departments, like DIEM (Computer Engineering) and DIFARMA (Pharmacy), are peak performance in Italy and some of their teachers have published many important articles. Still, I’d say that this university focuses more on research than on teaching, trying, as much as possible, to prepare graduated students to PhD rather than to find a job. In my department (DIEM) I would definitely remove maths-focused courses from the last years of the degrees (especially the master degree) to put some more trending topic courses in this field.

Salerno may be a small city but has hundreds of opportunities; its University represents one of those. Our campus is a modern facility and everything is built together: faculties, rooms, libraries, restaurants, cafeterias and canteens etc.. One of the most important activities of our Uni is the organization of the Erasmus Plus programme and everything regarding its fulfilment. The office who takes care of the Erasmus Programme is called “International Relationships Office”. It works perfectly thanks to the people who work very hard in there for the achievement of the programme. We count 300 Erasmus students incoming this year, and the number is increasing every academic year. In the same workspace our University has given a space to the AEGEE-Salerno association who works side by side with the office helping, during the academic year, the International Office, with the incoming and outgoing students. I became a member of AEGEE-Salerno in 2012 and since then I grow up a lot thanks to this great association who gives you the opportunity to travel, learn, work, meet hundreds of people, grow up as a person and a worker and live the most exciting experiences of your student life.
Fisciano and Baronissi Campus would have never been as full of students’ spirit without students’ associations, in particular, AEGEE-Salerno!!! The first step to do as you arrive in Fisciano Campus is to go to International Office, there is where you will find AEGEE-Salerno office! Go there and join the crew!!
