Personally, I loved my degree course at the University of Bologna, which is “Social and Cultural Educator”. Mainly, I really appreciated the fact that I dealt with mainly concrete subjects: such as psychology (social, developmental, general), sociology and anthropology.
I am a person who does not like to study abstract themes and the subjects I studied gave me the opportunity to tackle real cases through experiments and expert studies.
As for any improvements, I believe that my course of study should invest further in practical activities, such as workshops and internships. In three years we only have an internship of 225 hours which, in my opinion, is not enough, as I believe that the work of the educator is learned mainly in the field, rather than in books.
Student life is really fantastic, there are students from all over Italy and also from all over Europe, thanks to the Erasmus program. We were about 150 students and every day there was the possibility to get in touch with new people, a fantastic opportunity! In addition, Bologna is full of students, so you never get bored!
I would recommend my study course 100% because despite having a few hours of internship, it is an experience that I would repeat without thinking twice.
