The civil engineering faculty, being somewhat separate from the main university hub, seems to sidestep some of the admin headaches. Academically, the course structure is super flexible, with only a couple of required exams. This freedom can be great for students who know what they want, but it can also be overwhelming and make it hard to figure out what you need to study. The professors, though, are all really knowledgeable and experienced, with some having taught for years.

Sapienza University has a fantastic international community that makes student life really fun. However, the campuses are spread out and Rome’s public transport isn’t great, so it’s best to live near a subway line or in a student area.
The courses are very theoretical, which can be good for encouraging critical thinking, but some programs could use more practical application to balance it out. The professors are super helpful, though. Exams can be tough, especially for international students who aren’t used to this style of learning, but it’s definitely worth the effort.
All in all, Sapienza is a great university with lots of courses and opportunities – it’s a solid choice!

I study Environmental Engineering, Climate change adaptation and Mitigation. The course is very good in terms of academic expertise, technical exposure and international diversity. Overall had a good experience in Rome, though Italian beaurocracy, in general, isn’t good.

the subject is really interesting and i see a good future in it. but in Italy most people, even academics can not speak English very well. you can find a new view of how to solve environmental problems or control it also they teach you to adapt and mitigate bot it.

For civil engineering the exam program is very broad, comprehensive, although it flaws in the approach with practice. The main problem is that even in the final two years the first year is based on knowledge in all fields and not in the area of interest. Professors in general are very good and the topics covered are interesting.

The campus is a little bit outside Rome in a place called Rieti.
It’s a good course with a prospective future as more buildings are gonna be built with sustainability in mind and not to hurt the ecosystem.

Good program and a good university in a wonderful city. Like all Italian public universities have a lot of difficult, classes with a lot of students in the first years, bureaucratism and the teacher don’t answer the question every time.
