As a final-year student at AUR, I can confidently say it’s been a truly transformative experience. If you’re looking for a unique blend of academic rigor, cultural immersion, and personal growth, this might be the place for you.
What truly sets AUR apart is its intimate learning environment. Small class sizes mean you get personalized attention from professors who are passionate about their subjects and genuinely invested in your success. I’m majoring in Communications, and the professors have encouraged me to explore my creativity and develop my own voice.
And let’s talk about Rome! Living in this historic city is like stepping into a living museum. AUR takes full advantage of its location, with classes often incorporating site visits and field trips. Plus, the student life is vibrant, with plenty of opportunities to explore the city, make lifelong friends, and embrace the Italian way of life.
However, be prepared for some administrative hiccups. Things don’t always run as smoothly as they could, and you might need to advocate for yourself at times. Also, the campus is quite small, so if you’re looking for a traditional “campus life” with extensive facilities, this might not be the best fit.
Overall, my time at AUR has been an incredible adventure. It’s challenged me academically, broadened my horizons culturally, and helped me grow as a person. If you’re open to embracing the unexpected, navigating a few challenges, and immersing yourself in the beauty and history of Rome, then AUR could be the perfect place to call home for your university years.
