I graduated at UniPV with a MS degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Overall the programme is good, the classes are interesting and the professors are competent. However the degree requires a two year intership for an experimental thesis, and for many student it is difficult to find a place in a lab, because there are a lot of students and not enough positions in the lab of the university. Moreover a lot of the classes are very similar to classes from the BS degree in Biotechnology and the options for elective courses are limited.

The classrooms are modern and provide a comfortable learning environment. I have had amazing experience studying there and exploring the beautiful city of Pavia. The smaller grounds permits simple admittance to all logical divisions by walking. Teachers are exceptionally talented, giving understudies a predominant degree of schooling. View moreThe University of Pavia is one of the most ancient universities in Italy and in the world. Pavia is a small town, perfect for the young students that leave their house for the first time. It is also incredibly cheap for students, offering a lot of opportunities for free time, like sports, bars, restaurants and local concerts. Professors are incredibly competent and put their students in the first place. The university offers a great variety of classes and degrees, even in the English language, and tutors are always available to help students outside of the scholastic time.
I started my journey at the University of Pavia seven years ago, when I started my bachelor’s in Biotechnology. I fell in love with the classes, because I could have touch with my hand the passion for Science and knowledge all around me. In the Biology and Biotechnology Department, professors love their job and can transmit this passion to their students. During my career, I had also the opportunity to travel abroad with Erasmus Traineeship, to expand my network and my experiences, like many of my colleagues could have done, thanks to the scholarships offered by the university.
I strongly recommend this University for all the young students that want to start their path in a competitive but friendly environment, without all the disadvantages that a bigger city could bring.
