The University of Milan offers solid courses and supportive professors in a diverse, international environment. While some administrative processes could be clearer, the academic quality and research opportunities make it a valuable experience.

I can’t give a full rating of the University of Milan yet, but based on my experience in the Master’s in Biotechnology program, things have been going really well. The lectures are clear and well-structured, and the professors are approachable — they make even complex topics easier to understand.

One challenge is commuting; if you don’t live close to campus, getting to classes every day can be a bit tiring. Still, the overall experience has been positive. The university offers strong academic support, great facilities, and a welcoming environment that makes studying here worthwhile.

I’m currently enrolled in the Biotechnology Bachelor’s program at Università degli Studi di Milano. I started in October 2023 and, as a full-time working student, I really appreciate the university’s flexibility. They offer the option to enroll as a part-time student, which gives you up to double the regular time to complete your degree — this has been essential for me.

The course has met my expectations so far. The theoretical preparation is solid and well-structured, and the laboratory work is a huge plus — it’s hands-on and really helps to connect theory with practice. I don’t attend most lectures due to my job, but I do attend the mandatory labs and practical sessions.

One downside is that not all professors upload their lecture slides on Ariel (the university’s e-learning platform), which can be challenging if you can’t attend in person. Luckily, some professors are very understanding — one even recommended a textbook that allowed me to keep up with the course.

What I like most about the program are the lab experiences, the support and kindness of certain professors, and the fact that the university allows students like me to study at our own pace. There’s also the possibility to apply for Erasmus and study abroad, which is a great opportunity even though I haven’t used it myself.

On the administrative side, bureaucracy can sometimes be a bit disorganized, but the student office has always been helpful when I needed support.

Would I recommend this course to another working student? Yes, definitely — it provides strong theoretical and practical preparation. Just be aware that it’s not easy to balance work and study, but if you’re motivated, it’s definitely worth it.

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at Università degli Studi di Milano. I enrolled in October 2023 and, as a full-time worker, I truly value the university’s option for part-time enrollment, which allows students extra time to complete their studies — up to twice the standard duration. This flexibility has been crucial for me.

Overall, the course has lived up to my expectations. The theoretical framework is comprehensive and well-organized, and the hands-on lab activities are extremely beneficial for putting knowledge into practice. Since I work full-time, I can only attend mandatory labs and selected classes, but this hasn’t stopped me from keeping up with the program.

I would definitely recommend this course to other working students. It provides strong academic and practical training, though balancing a job and studying demands commitment and good time management.

The teaching system of the University is very well managed. Students have a lot of opportunities to study abroad as well from the connections of universities with other universities. Moreover, research quality in the field of science is very high.

I am currently studying BfB at UNIMI. So far, it has been a wonderful experience for me at this institution.

I am currently enrolled in the “Biotechnology for the Bioeconomy” Program and the program is very streamlined and diverse. It is designed to explore as well and at the end of the day, this program will lead one to a path that a student desires. The professors are very helpful.
The only downside is the accommodation and cost of living.
