The university of bologna, claimed the oldest university in the western world, is well as the status suggests the oldest in their teaching methods and approaches.
If you’re a foreign student you can forget about adjusting to any difficulty you might face as their system is prone against foreigners and they do favour Italians indeed even if you are in an international program.
As the Italian bureaucracy is infamous for being the worst ever so is the university check it might be even worst.
You can forget about making connections with your professors/faculty as the system is quite traditional and the professors are the ultimate class dictators, so if anything goes south in a course well, good luck.
As for opportunities the professors claim to be helpful with, as stated if you’re a foreigner you can kiss your high hopes goodbye.
Nothing is ever clear about any of the procedures nor the courses themselves as the courses themselves are always subject to change and variation.
Don’t even get me started on accommodations, the most difficult part of the whole moving to bologna procedure and Italians sure know how to rip you off especially if you don’t speak their language (and i’m not only talking about italian here)
Overall if you come from a english or american system this university is a big No-No. Especially if you are planning and moving to italy for the long run.
