The BESS programme at Trinity College Dublin offers an excellent mix of flexibility and depth. One of its biggest strengths is the wide range of subjects you can explore in the first two years, from business and economics to political science and sociology, before specializing later on. This really allows students to find their strengths and tailor their degree to their interests.

The lecturers are generally very knowledgeable and passionate about their fields, and there are plenty of resources available through the library and online systems. The campus itself is a fantastic place to study, with a strong academic reputation that opens doors internationally.

On the downside, class sizes in the first year can be quite large, and sometimes it feels like you don’t get as much individual attention as you might in smaller programmes. Administrative processes can also be a bit slow and confusing at times.

Overall, I would highly recommend BESS to anyone interested in the social sciences or business, especially if they want flexibility and the chance to shape their degree path. The international reputation of Trinity adds great value to the programme as well.
