I am currently a student at Technological University Dublin (TUD), pursuing my degree in E-Commerce and Retailing. Having experienced the university firsthand, TUD’s has definitely succeeded in executing its vision of equipping graduates to thrive in a connected, collaborative electronic retailing environment with its E-Commerce and Retailing course.
TUD has designed a range of modules within the E-Commerce and Retailing course that align perfectly with the demands of the industry. For instance, modules like “Internet Technologies in Retailing,” “Data Analysis,” and “Strategic ICT” have provided me with valuable insights and practical skills necessary to navigate the world of electronic retailing. The curriculum has been crafted to give advanced social media, platform, and design skills, addressing the contemporary needs of the retail industry.
One aspect of TUD that I particularly appreciate is the Aungier Campus, where I am based. The campus has a vibrant and welcoming community vibe, making it easy to socialize and form lasting friendships. Another advantage of TUD is the relatively small class sizes compared to other universities. This factor allows lecturers to provide more personalized attention and support to each student. The one-to-one interaction with professors has been extremely helpful for me during the different exam periods.
While overall, I am highly satisfied with the E-Commerce and Retailing course at TUD, I do believe that the university could place a greater emphasis on programming languages, such as Java. Although the course provided a basic understanding of Java, during my internship, I found that I needed to undergo additional training in areas that could have been covered within the curriculum.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Technological University Dublin as an excellent institution for anyone interested in studying business, e-commerce, and those with an entrepreneurial vision.
