I’m a class of 2010 student from the Physics Education. I lived in Malang from 2010 to 2014. Here I will share the pros and cons of studying at University of Malang. Everything is based on experience without any element of bringing down any party.
PLUS:
1. Daily living costs (one meal 5-10 thousand), boarding costs (per month 400 and above), are still AFFORDABLE.
2. Transportation costs are only 2500 if you take public transportation.
3. Clothing when studying tends to be free. I often find students who wear sweatshirts, t-shirts, and mountain sandals. I myself have also been like that, even though there are restrictions. NOT APPLICABLE for Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of
Mathematics and Science .
4. Free seminars are often held. You will also get free snacks too hehe the boarding house kids will definitely like it 🙂
Minus
1. If it’s a financial matter, you have to be prepared to be thrown to another party. Yes, one party was told to go to another party, then told to go somewhere else.
2. Not all faculties have a canteen. Even if there is, the place is very small. Faculties that have large canteens are FE, FMIPA and FIP (outside canteen).
3. Don’t believe the term “just wait”. NO. You should ask/follow up frequently. This is for all matters, whether academic or not.
