I studied in Bhagwan Mahavir College of engineering and technology affiliated by Gujarat technological University. GTU focuses more on remembering theory from books rather than students gaining practical knowledge of subjects. The curriculum and pattern of examination is worst. No liberty of choosing subjects after selection of stream. Handwritten assignment which are pointless. The college i studied from had bare minimum facilities, poor infrastructure, outdated labs, infact we passed a subject or two without practical experience. Some professors were very knowledgeable on their subjects, but what a waste of talent considering the design of syllabus and methods of examination. A handful of colleges under this university offer campus recruitment, so very very few students gets placed among thousands of students every year. I feel regret wasting my 4 years of graduation within this scenario. I hope in future, GTU understands the importance of students time and money. So they take steps to design curriculum in more efficient ways which is fruitful in practical life and include colleges which meets the standard of engineering colleges.
