My time at the University of Pécs is something I carry with me warmly. Pécs is not a big city, and that’s exactly what makes it special. Because of its size, everything feels closer, people, places, and experiences. You quickly find yourself part of a community where faces become familiar, friendships grow naturally, and the city itself almost embraces you like a family. The streets, cafes, and campus life all weave together into an atmosphere that feels safe, lively, and full of connection.

Of course, like every experience, it has its challenges. Studying psychology there, I sometimes felt the program leaned too much toward being casual, almost like high school rather than a demanding university setting. For those seeking a very rigorous or internationally competitive degree, that can feel limiting. And one very practical point: the degree itself doesn’t hold much weight outside of Hungary without an apostille, so taking care of that right after finishing is important.

Still, when I think back, what stays with me isn’t the paperwork or the occasional frustrations in class, it’s the warmth of the people, the laughter with friends, and the sense of belonging that Pécs gives so easily. Life there has a way of slowing down, drawing you into genuine connections and experiences. For me, the University of Pécs was less about prestige and more about community, growth, and memories I’ll always treasure.

It offers a strong Psychology program, particularly known for its comprehensive curriculum and dedicated faculty. The professors are knowledgeable, approachable, and proficient in English, making the learning process engaging for international students. However, the program is quite demanding, especially the research components, which require significant effort and critical thinking. Overall, it’s a great choice for students ready to embrace academic challenges in a supportive environment.

As a student admitted in 2019, the University of Pécs Psychology Program offered me a wide range of knowledge in various fields. From developmental and clinical psychology to social and organizational psychology, we explored it all. The curriculum emphasized research skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of psychology’s essence. The helpful teachers had good English communication skills. We engaged in hands-on activities, debates, and experiments, making the learning experience enjoyable. Stats analysis and real case studies were also part of our journey. An informative and exciting program!

From the depths of a backward area in Pakistan to the pinnacle of a scholarship in Hungary, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. My area of focus at the esteemed University of Pécs is BA Psychology, and I am honored to have received the prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. University of Pécs have provided me with alot of opportunites and these experiences broadened my horizons and allowed me to embrace diverse perspectives.
Currently, I am privileged to serve as a mentor in the Hook Stipendium Hungaricum Network, assisting and connecting with aspiring students, and guiding them on their own transformative journeys. Moreover, I am actively involved in the Psychological Society of the University of Pécs, specifically in the department of social affairs, where I contribute to initiatives that promote well-being and mental health awareness.
Additionally, I am honored to be a member of the AIESEC Outgoing Volunteering Students team, where I contribute to the development of programs that encourage students to engage in volunteerism abroad, fostering global citizenship and making a positive impact on communities around the world.
Through my experiences and involvements, I have not only developed a diverse range of skills but also forged meaningful connections with individuals from various backgrounds. These experiences have molded me into a well-rounded individual with a passion for making a difference in the world.
As I reflect upon my journey, I am driven to share my story, to motivate and inspire other students who may face similar challenges and doubts. Together, we can defy expectations, break through barriers, and create a future where dreams know no boundaries. Let us unite, embrace our shared experiences, and empower one another to reach new heights of achievement and fulfillment.

I loved the mostly helpful administration of the university of Pecs. One room for improvement would be for the course work to be made more practice oriented and less theoretical. Also to make finals examination less complicated.

The University offers excellent education to students with updated material. Professors, most of the time, are open-minded and helpful. It is obvious they are really interested in what they are teaching and know what they are talking about.
The one and only downside to the University is the lack of help from the administrative staff.

I really appreciate the University Culture of treating International Students in a very humble and warm environment. If there is anything that I would like to change in my previous University is to create equal opportunities for students from different faculties of the same University.

The program here gives a valuable diploma all around the globe. It’s true, you will study a lot from the great professors but the colourful international student life will compensate you for everything: libraries, clubs, restaurants, pools and hiking in the hills. It’s just a Paradise.
