Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
Studying at Budapest Business School (BBS) was a fantastic experience. BBS’s practical approach to education, knowledgeable professors, and strong industry connections made it a standout choice for me. The school’s location in Budapest, with its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, added to the appeal. Overall, I highly recommend BBS to anyone looking for a well-rounded business education.
View moreSmall and old university with up to date facilities. Curriculum can be wider, with more business courses. Overall an okay experience. The Administrative situation needs to improve and more internship support needs to be provided to students.
View moreThe university is really practice oriented and international. For sure having a degree from BBS is appreciated by the employers, as it is considered the second best business schools in Hungary. Sadly, one of the faculties located really far from the center, which is not convenient for student life. They should definitely improve in organisation and administration. It’s hard to reach them or find the right person to help you.
View moreIt was very good that the majority of my teachers are motivated and kind. They really want to teach us something. They have a huge knowledge and often long years of working experience as well. However, their English language skills are awful. I barely can mention teachers with good English speaking. Their grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary are all poor. The school and the teachers should improve this. Moreover, I found quite a lot of international people during my course, since it was in English. This is a good point that there’s an international environment. Moreover, I suggest that the university improve its course material from a very theoretical course to a more practical one. I think it would be nice if we could do more practical exercises.
View moreThe environment is good and it’s multicultural
The compound is really nice but a bit far(depending on the faculty)
They should have a sports team because of the facilities that they have
They should really consider the sports career of the university
Very welcoming and supportive lecturers and staff. Multi-cultured environment. The university is easily accessible by bus and train. Good buildings, good library, good computer rooms and good internet connectivity.
