View moreThe programme was intense and definitely pushed me academically, but the support from lecturers made a huge difference. Staff were approachable, the course content felt relevant, and there were plenty of chances to get involved in projects and career events. Workload could be overwhelming at times, but overall it prepared me well for future steps.
View moreProfessors are doing a great job. Professors Maria Lekakou, Helen Thanopoulou, Alexandros Glykas ensure that students graduating this department have good knowledge when it comes to shipping/ maritime. Students learn about different markets (bulks, tankers, containers), about ports, about the basic ship designs, chartering, and maritime law (of course finance, trade, maths etc). The dpt organizes conferences, guest lecturers from market leading companies, visits abroad.
I am proud to be an alumni and believe that it’s one of the best Universities to study maritime.
Also, the marine academy of based in Chios so even as students, people form a strong network.
If the courses were in English, that would strengthen the department’s image and attract international students too, and possibly funding.
Οverall the program gave me the opportunity to understand in-depth the field of information technology, the teaching staff for the most part consisted of very good professionals who passed on a lot of knowledge.
View moreI would recommend my university, it has great labs and the professors really care about us for getting the necessary knowledge. The environment of the university, as well as the island(Lemnos), is very friendly and peaceful. The only negative is the location because Lemnos is a small Island compared to a big town as Athens so you don’t have a variety of coffee shops, clothing stores, clubs etc
