I choose this university for its highly recognized diploma and affordable tuition fees. What I didn’t know was that I would be moving to a beautiful student city that never sleeps with such scenic beauty, historical significance, delicious food, and well-priced drinks.
The small-sized classes of CITY College allow a very personal environment where the professors know everyone’s name, which isn’t very typical in other universities. Therefore, it is much easier to hold interactive classes, ask questions and make sure every student is caught up to the rest of the class. On the other hand, most of the professors are Greek and as are many of the students, therefore the conversations in class can easily switch to Greek. This is seen as the most prevalent issue, as many of the students are international and the program is supposed to be held in English. Another issue would be that absences from classes are counted, so if you work or are an athlete this may be a problem for you.
Overall, however, the international student body, quality degree, and the credibility of the professors stump all the other issues. Plus the fact that we can go out for coffee next to the sea after classes make it difficult to not love it in Thessaloniki!
