I am a student of Electrical and Computer Engineering School, of the National Technical University of Athens, in the 5th semester of my studies. This school was my first choice when I took the national exams, and now, after two years, I feel just as happy and proud as then, that I managed to succeed. It is considered one the most demanding and at the same time promising schools, and universities in general, here in Greece, and I have to admit that these allegations are confirmed on a daily basis. This is due to the fact that it has increased workload in multifaceted courses combined with mandatory laboratories. However, tasks and lecture attendance helps a lot in keeping in touch with the courses and organizing someone’s study. As far as the students are concerned, there are people of all kinds who are really friendly and easily accessible so as to expand your network. In fact, this compensates for the impersonal disposition of several teachers in the first years (due to a large number of students), favoring the cooperation with your fellow students, something that may have more value and motivates you more in the end (both in academical and personal life). If I had to say something negative, this would be on the one hand the facilities, as they are not so modern and hi-tech in a European academic way, and on the other hand the extensive presence of student political groups, which are quite fanatical without essential achievements (and that says someone who loves politics). In addition, if someone wants to give their studies their international touch, they have to deal with this mainly alone, because there are ways (Erasmus, competitions, etc.) but there are not so highlighted by the responsible. In general, students have sincerely unforgettable student years there, that follow them throughout their lives, giving them multiple professional and research perspectives (programming, computer architecture, telecommunications, networks, energy, electronics, administration elements, robotic, all in one master’s degree).
